IJEBU UNITED KICKS THE GROUND RUNNING!!!

Two goals scored late in each half of an entertaining encounter saw Ijebu United FC triumph over debutant International FC of Lagos during week one of the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League season at Ijebu ode.

It was a ding-dong affair looking likely for a scoreless first half and with both teams giving a good account of themselves when mercurial midfielder, Babus Gaye intelligently shot past Oje Samson in goal for International FC of Lagos from 30 meters on the dot of 45th minute to put Ijebu United in the lead by half time.

International FC of Lagos took control of proceedings on resumption of the second half of the game and were rewarded with a goal in the 70th minutes to bring scores at par.

However, the Ijebu Ode based warlords reacted spontaneously with barrages of sustained pressures against their opponents which was rewarded eventually when former Vandrezzer FC left back Felix Oloye, adjudged Man-of-the-Match, prodded deep into the defence of the visitors to nod home the second and winning goal for Ijebu United from a corner kick with a minute left from the fifth added time and threw the stadium and fans of the home team into jubilations.

The darling team of Ijebu football fans and followers will be looking forward to consolidate on the outcome of the match in week two with a derby and a United affair encounter against Gateway United FC at Abeokuta on Saturday 25th of November, 2023.

CLUB STATEMENT: Ijebu United unveil Anthony Encho.

Ijebu United is delighted to formally announce the appointment of Anthony Encho as the new Head Coach of the Club on a year contract subject to renewal at the end of 2023/2024 Nigeria National League season.

Coach Encho, who was officially unveiled yesterday Tuesday 7th August, 2033 will be ably assisted by Michael Shoniregun while Adebayo Adetayo takes charge as goalkeepers trainer.

The Cameroonian former gaffers of ABS and Crown FC holds a UEFA B licence and a graduate of Advance Diploma at the National Institute for Sports, Lagos.

The entire management of Ijebu United FC welcomes Anthony Encho to the Club and wish him the very best of luck.

The camp of Ijebu United FC will officially open on Friday 4th August, 2023 for preparations towards commencement for the 2023/2024 football season.

Old players are expected to report back to camp latest by Sunday, 6th August, 2023.

IJEBU UNITED PART WAYS WITH COACH FESO!!

The Management of Ijebu United FC and Coach Tajudeen Fesojaiye have mutually agreed not to renew the contract binding both parties.

A veteran shot-stopper during his playing days, Coach Fesojaiye has been prominent with Ijebu United FC. He was first employed as Head Coach of OLISA FC (now Ijebu United FC) in 2017 and disengaged 2 years after. He returned in 2021 for a season-long period and made a third appearance before the start of the 2023 football season.

Ijebu United FC wishes to expressly and sincerely applaud Coach Fesojaiye for all his efforts and contributions and wish him well in the future.
